LiMo – Neue einheitliche Linux-Plattform für Handys

Heute hat die LiMo Foundation ihre neue Linux-Plattform für Mobiltelefone vorgestellt. Die Plattform soll einheitlich sein, sprich alle Geräte die mit LiMo arbeiten sowie die Programme dafür, sollen miteinander kompatibel sein. Bekannte Namen wie Samsung, Motorola oder Texas Instruments sind Teil der Foundation. Ich weis allerdings nicht für was nochmal ein auf Linux basierendes Betriebssystem für Handys notwendig ist. OpenMoko, Android… Wie viele brauchen wir denn noch?
