iPhone 3G in China ohne 3G und WLAN

HaHa, wie geil ist denn das eigentlich. China Mobile verlangt von Apple scheinbar 3G und WLAN beim iPhone 3G zu sperren. Beim 3G ist das noch verständlich, denn China verfügt über kein 3G-Netz, aber beim WLAN. Was soll das bitte? Ohne WLAN und 3G ist das iPhone eben nicht mehr als ein etwas besserer iPod Touch. In China ticken die Uhren halt doch ein wenig anders.

I am living in China for long time and you can see iphones everywhere. They are sold on electronic markets and include a jailbreak and unlock(!). I am talking about real apple 3G iphones not about those cheap copies. My iphone 3G has a software unlock which is not very stable though. I bought it for 4300 Yuan (=630US-$) There is no 3G network but data transfer with GPRS is fast enough for email, safari and mobile.me updates. In all those starbucks cafes you can connect to the wifi networks. Now I ask myself who’s going to buy a official iphone from a local provider if there are less functions? Only a much cheaper price could be a reason.
